Meow Wolf brings “The Real Unreal” to Grapevine, Texas

Meow Wolf is an immersive and interactive art exhibition company that first hit the scene in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With the help of a $2.7 million investment from George R. R. Martin (yes, we’re talking A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones), the team turned a vacant bowling alley into an art installation called House of Eternal Return.

Thanks to the its success, Meow Wolf opened a second location in Las Vegas, Nevada called Omega Mart and a third location in Denver, Colorado called Convergence Station. Meow Wolf just opened a fourth location in Grapevine, Texas (Post Malone’s hometown) called The Real Unreal. The installation debuted on July 14, at Grapevine Mills shopping mall.

When you first enter, you’ll stumble upon what looks like a normal two-story house at night. But once inside, you’ll notice hidden portals scattered throughout the house. There’s a door behind the refrigerator. There’s also a hidden pathway in the fireplace. In the bedroom, behind the closet is another secret entrance. All of these portals leads to different dimensions. Instead of a linear approach like most traditional art exhibitions, Meow Wolf utilizes a non-linear approach. The idea is that the house acts as a central cross-exhibition.

Meow Wolf has announce a fifth location in Houston, Texas. The new exhibition has already made its ground breaking ceremony in the Fifth Ward district and is set to open in 2024.
